Live: I was born in Port Washington, Wisconsin. My family moved to the Mesa when I was six years old. I left the area for eight years of Active Duty service in the US Air Force and returned to the valley in 2006. My husband, Joe, and I moved to Gilbert about four years ago. I have three children, Drew, Mary and Josh.
Work: I am a Human Resources Consultant with Dignity Health at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center. I have always been drawn to Healthcare and I absolutely love working with people. I take great pride in being part of such a life changing industry with the people that work miracles every day.
Play : I love the outdoors; camping, hiking, backpacking, canoeing, rollerblading or biking. I just can’t get enough. I love that the Arizona climate allows me year round outdoor activity. Freestone Park is practically my backyard and I’m minutes from the Riparian Preserve here in Gilbert. I can’t ask for a better place to be.
Deb Carr is a 26 year resident of Gilbert, where her husband, Doug, has a business in independent insurance. They have 3 beautiful daughters Sara, Amy and Allison. The older daughters are enjoying the start of their careers and the youngest is attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Deb also is a graduate of the UNL with a BA in Marketing.
Because leadership and community are so important to her, she has been a constant volunteer within the community, mostly in the area of Education. She currently serves on the Gilbert Education Foundation Board, the Business and Education committee for the Chamber and many panels for Gilbert Public Schools.

Milissa’s collaborative approach has evolved her compliance focus from enforcement to active listening and education. This evolution represents an elevated degree of sustainable cooperative compliance over traditional methods.
Milissa’s interest in sustainable environmental practices is very personal…to preserve the environment of children (an alternative EOC). She infuses green practices into her family as well as into her facilities. Live: As an Arizona native, I grew up in a small town in northern Arizona. I have lived in Gilbert for the past 20+ years and have been married to my high school sweetheart, Jim, for 31 years. We have four adult children ages 19-29.
Work: I work at Sun Valley Community Church as the Local Outreach Coordinator. I am passionate about creating opportunities for the faith-based community to live out their faith through loving their neighbors. I am also a consultant for other non-profits, helping them find creative ways to engage the community. I enjoy volunteering as a women’s ministry leader at my church, where over 180 women join together in a weekly Bible study.
Play : I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling with my husband or going to Puerto Penasco, Mexico to spend time on the beach in our 5th wheel trailer. I also love weekend getaways to explore the beautiful state of Arizona. My most recent love…Cardinal’s football!

I currently work for the Gilbert Fire and Rescue Department as an Assistant Fire Chief. I have worked for the department since 1999 when I began as a Firefighter.
When not at work, I spend a lot of evenings tutoring my daughter in math and science classes. Weekends are spent mostly with friends and family. We camp in our teardrop trailer when the schedule allows. We are also passionate fans of college football. We have football/tailgate season tickets at our beloved University of Arizona and tailgate at every home game, also with our little teardrop trailer. BEAR DOWN!

Kellie Henzel was born and raised in Arizona, where she is a graduate of Arizona State University with her Bachelor of Science. She currently holds the position of Branch Sales Manager with TruWest Credit Union where she has worked for over nine years. Kellie serves as a steering committee member of the Arizona Youth Involvement Network where she assists in planning events and volunteerism for young credit union professionals from all over the state of Arizona. Kellie was selected this past spring to represent the state of Arizona in ‘Crash the GAC’ in which a young credit union professional were selected from every state to attend the Governmental Affairs Conference in Washington D.C. Kellie was able to meet key leaders in the credit union industry along with her Congress representatives while lobbing for the credit union industry. In her spare time Kellie likes to read, exercise, and spend time with her family.

Ben Kalkman is the founder and CEO of Rocket Media, a creative digital marketing agency based in Gilbert, Arizona. Originally from Minnesota, raised in Kansas and a graduate of Kansas State University, Ben has been a resident of Gilbert since 2002. He and his wife, Lindsay, have seven children and enjoy raising their family in Gilbert. In addition to Rocket Media, Ben recently started running a co-working & event facility called ‘SPACE’. In addition to running several business and co-managing a rather large family, Ben currently serves on the Pastoral Advisory Committee (PAC) for St Timothy Catholic church, the Master Architectural Committee (MAC) for Val Vista Lakes community association and continues to assist the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce with their digital marketing.
Shelly Lanham, MS, CCC-SLP, is the Director of Rehabilitation Services and Wound/Ostomy at Banner Gateway Medical Center and Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center. Shelly received her Bachelor of Education and Social Sciences from Missouri Southern State University and her Master of Science in Communication Science and Disorders from Missouri State University. As a Speech Pathologist, she works primarily with those patients with swallowing disorders. Being able to help a patient regain this important skill of life is especially fulfilling.
Growing up with a father who was a Captain of the Joplin Missouri Fire Department, the love for community began early. Volunteering became a way of life with a focus on healthcare, city beautification and improving offerings in the parks and recreation areas.
As a Community Health Needs Assessment campus co-lead, this lifelong dedication continues with collaborating within the community on identified needs and health strategies, with a focus on access to care.
Shelly is a continual learner with a love for history, genealogy, gardening, hiking, anything outdoors, baking and reading. Being able to spend the majority of the year outside in recreational activities is an added bonus to living in Arizona. While learning to garden is the Southwest climate is a challenge, adapting to the desert lifestyle has benefited in adding to the garden to table bounty.

I grew up in Massachusetts moving to the Phoenix area after graduating from Worcester State College with a BSN and a Minor in Health education. While working I had the opportunity to continue my education and earned a dual master’s degree (MBA/MSN-L) from Grand Canyon University.
Live: Outside of work my wife Siobhan and I will be celebrating nine years of marriage this November. I often tell people the best thing that I ever did was convince Sib to marry me! Together we have two young and energetic boys; Brice, 6 and Nathan 3 years old. Our family dog is named Walker. Walker is a 5 year old Australian Shepard. He is a lovely and loyal animal with red merle coloring.

Live: I was born in Iowa, but I have been a resident of the East Valley since junior high school. I have lived in Phoenix, Mesa, Tempe and Gilbert. I am committed to my church in Gilbert which I have been a part of for 24 years. My wife and I met in high school and have been married for over a quarter century. We are the proud parents of three children (plus a son-in-law and daughter-in-law) and one grandchild! I love spending time (and money) in Gilbert and I can hardly wait to see what the town has in store next.
Work: After 21 years, I retired from Gilbert Police Department as a commander. Serving the citizens of Gilbert has been something that has given me great pleasure since the day I first pinned on a badge. While I have lived in several East Valley cities, I truly have grown up in Gilbert over the last two decades. I have tried to grow at the same pace as the town but it’s been hard to keep up!

I grew up in Austin, Texas and graduated from The University of Texas and moved to Gilbert, Arizona in 2009. I was concerned when I first moved from a waterfront resort environment to a desert but have found all the amazing things Arizona has to offer like being able to swim in the pool and drive two hours and ski in Pinetop all in the same day.
I have been licensed in Real Estate for 17 years and have a Brokerage in Arizona and Texas. I chose Real Estate as a profession after I had open heart surgery at age 29. I decided that I needed to work at something passionate as well as rewarding. My goal has been over the years to help families realize their dreams of home ownership while maintaining a true account of what they can afford so that their household expenses do not take away from the things they can enjoy with their family. Other adventures in my life include: owning a Candy Wholesale Company, A T-Shirt Company, and a Restaurant and working as an Executive Assistant.
Volunteering is extremely satisfying and fun, especially when I am helping others. I am a Co-leader of an amazing single –parent’s ministry at Sun Valley Community Church. I also volunteer weekly at Gilbert Christian School with some wonderful people in the classroom, lunch room, box tops, and the uniform closet. My interest outside of Volunteering include: Gardening, Cooking for family and friends, Reading, and anything that my 6 year old son finds fun!
